~In the eye of the storm..~

~In the eye of the storm.."

Sometimes our eyes get off of the things of God, God's plan for our lives, His purpose and all the goodness that is God and we begin to look around us to see the chaos, the ones that we are unable to help, the negative voices telling us that we can't do anything right but sometimes what it takes is for us to admit and cry out to God that "we can't, but He can!"

"We are weak but He is strong!"

It's that voice crying out to God that will build us up to move the mountains in our lives! 

It's a desperate cry that we can no longer continue without His hand holding ours and leading us wherever He would have us go!

When we realize that..

 "we can't but He can!" 

..Suddenly the overwhelming things become little, they are now..

"it's in your hands Lord! I know you have a plan, move anything out of my path that wasn't sent by you so your purpose can take place in my life!"

Get an attitude of..

"That's my God!" 

"If God is with me, I won't fail!"

Have faith that shakes things up in your life! 

Dig your heels in and rebuke the enemy and instruments he has placed in your life to try to harm you or prevent God's full plan to come to light! 

Satan's schemes and lies will not overtake you! 

God is with you in the dark areas of your life! 

God sees the gray clouds coming your way and He will be right there with you while you're making your way past them! 

He will walk beside you and lead you to the other side of it!

God hasn't left you behind, He's been with you the whole time..

You simply forgot to ask for His help in that situation but it's not too late to cry out to Him for help! 

Reach out and grab ahold of His promises once more!

God will show up and help you in your hours of distress! 

Don't give up on His plan for your life! Speak life! 

Declare joy and peace and the blessings of God into your life again!

It's not over! 

There's freedom! 

Joy is yours! 

Purpose is yours so seek Him and you'll begin to see those things come to pass into your life!

It's not over! Don't throw in the towel! Instead get on your knees and declare the things of God! Rebuke the enemy and he WILL FLEE FROM YOU!!

~Self Frustration~

Do you ever become frustrated with yourself because you can't seem to clear your mind to focus on what task you are trying to accomplish?

It's difficult at times when something is so important to you but you can't seem to explain the significance of what's in your mind and on your heart to your friends and loved ones because you can't seem to focus or get past the feeling of "I can't do this" or "What is wrong with me?"

It all comes down to this..
God makes no mistakes, he is the one that can bring relief to our minds and the one of whom we can cast our frustrations on because he loves us and wants to bring peace to this crazy life!

When you become frustrated and you don't know what to do, when you begin to question your worth because of this..Stop, Pray and ask the Lord for  peace that passes all understanding and he will help take that frustration away from you!

When you tell yourself "I can't"
Don't stop there, start saying.."I can't But He can!"
God works beyond our abilities and makes the impossible possible!
There's nothing wrong with you!
God makes no mistakes!
you just need more of God to look past your frustration and begin to remember His purpose for your life!His design isn't flawed..He made us all with a special destiny in mind!
all we need to do is allow Him to fill our minds with His peace and it's the kind of peace that Nothing Else can fulfill in our lives!
Let's remind ourselves of this verse today..

"Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let

~Stolen Things~

Satan is a scoundrel, no matter how you cut it! He is a thief! He's a liar! He is deceitful! He is the master of confusion and wants to put fear in us!
He wants to destroy our hopes and dreams but more than that..he steals our joy and peace!

He wants to crush our spirit, to remove the smile from your face that brings joy to others around you!
He doesn't want you to believe in yourself or to trust the people who love you when they really want you to succeed in your life but he doesn't want you to!
He wants to put doubt in you and cause you to doubt that God loves you and also doubt that your family and friends love you!

This is the way he works, He wants to hold you back from anything good!
He only wants us to fail at what we're good at and doesn't want us to move out of the past and live for today and move toward a much fuller future but to be held back from success!

But let me tell you about my God..
My God has a plan for each and every person from the moment of conception!
He is a loving God that loves us unconditionally!

He looks upon the heart and doesn't look upon the exterior of a person,
He is forgiving and merciful,
He is mighty and wants to give us strength! He is our protector!
He is the alpha and omega, the first and the last! He will never fade from our lives, He will forever be!

He loves us all equally and sent his son so we could choose to have a better life spent in eternity with him!
With God..what do we have to fear?
Nothing!
With God on our side..who can stop us? No one!
Keep going..you will get there!
The joy of the Lord will be your strength if you will allow it!
It may be impossible on our own But with God..Nothing is impossible!

~Breaking The Mold~

Why is it that we feel like we should try so hard to become something that we're not just for the sake of making other people more comfortable, while in the meantime it's causing us to compromise the unique individual that God created us to be?

This world is so messed up with people who are two faced and seek only to destroy those around them by picking apart someone to the point that they question their worth or they weaken the small amount of confidence that they do have, with the world being so critical it's no wonder that we pretend to be someone we just aren't but we also do that to ourselves at times, we can be our own worst enemy, our biggest critic.

We can also become wishy washy with ourselves and concerning others, we can tell ourselves one day that we are a child of God, a masterpiece but the next day we will change our perspective because of a mistake that we made and instead of allowing ourselves to accept the grace that God gives freely to anyone who will accept it..we will mellow in our own self pity instead and not only that but we want to tell anyone who will listen!
But It's time to change! Are you ready? I am.
I'm tired of hiding my individuality, I want to show the world the funny and easygoing person that I've tried so hard to hide, I don't know why we feel like we have to create almost an alias in order to get those around us to like us. The truth is that the right people will come to love us for who we really are..so why not try to be your true self out there, too?

Let's be honest about who we are and about things that we like and dislike, what our passions are in life, who we live our life for and people who mean the world to us!

One of the things I have a hard time letting go of is what people think of me, I know a lot of other people struggle with this..because of this you're afraid to fully trust those around you even your family at times and it also causes you to have a difficult time communicating your feelings and opinions to those around you.
But here's the biggest issue with not accepting and showing fully who you are to others..
By not showing who you are, you are actually denying God of showing his glory through you, his creation!
You are trying to make a new mold..trying to create someone who doesn't even compare to the person that God created you to be!

When God made YOU, ME, ALL..
He broke the mold!
We are all unique, works of art, masterpieces of the most high God! We don't have to make excuses to anyone!
The only opinion that matters is God's! What God sees in us is pure gold, rubies and the most valuable of all treasures!! So let's begin to thank God for the masterpiece that he created in us and allow him to use us in mighty ways once more! We are all loved by a Heavenly Father so let's start loving ourselves so he can shine through us in our lives and we'll be able to change the world by doing so!! Are you with me? Let's do this!

Psalms 55:22
"Cast your burden on the LORD,

There seems to be so much sadness and negativity in this world these days that it almost seems impossible to find the strength you need in order to achieve your dreams but the saddest part about it is that quite a few of them are Christians who go to church every week and yet they keep this to themselves and they're scared to give their sorrows to God and exchange it for peace and joy.
No matter what has happened in your life I want you to know that God sent his son down to earth and he sacrificed his own life in order to make a way for us to join him in Heaven for an eternity. He did the hardest part and he made a way so we could be set free from all of our sins, insecurities, oppression, sorrows, stress, illnesses, shame..
He paid the price for it all because he loved us that much!
We can have joy and peace!
We can have freedom and purpose! We can have good health and peace of mind! He made a way for all of us, all we have to do is accept it and serve him and life will begin to get better.
Put your trust in God and find the rest you so desperately need!
No need to stress, He will give you rest! Choose him this day and you'll be able to smile again and your dreams will seem much closer within your reach.
So let's give it to him and go to sleep, after all..Faith makes a fine pillow.

~God's guiding hand~

In this life it can be difficult to get past things, we want the little house with the picket fence and the safe little family contained inside but we don't want to let go of the abuse that we've endured from a previous relationship or forgive ourselves for attempting suicide years before or allowing God to take our sorrows and depression in order to move on.
It can be difficult to let go of the past but it can only get better from here on, we have to put things in perspective like this..
"He can't hurt me anymore,
I can't hurt myself anymore,
God is my joy and my peace and I will get through this!"
That's how you can start, God knows the need even before you ask him for it but in order for things to change and to move forward you need to give those things to God and allow him to comfort your heart once more.
There isn't one thing that God can't get you through, there isn't one scar that he can't heal and there isn't one day that God can't help you through!
God only wants the best for us but we can only get there if we take that first step and ask him for help and if you don't know what your need is then ask him to reveal to you what your need is, sometimes we don't realize just how much someone or something has hurt us in the past but we need God to show that to us in order to move past it and onto better things for our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

~The road ahead~

In this life we can get it so wrong, the wrong job, the wrong relationship, the wrong choice, the wrong words..but whatever mistakes are made God can make right all of them in an instance and when he does that for us he does what's best for us and reveals to us where we went wrong but at the same time shows us where we can start right this time around and he takes us to the place we're supposed to be and were supposed to be all along.
Satan tries to tell us when we make a mistake in life that we cannot turn around but we have to stay in that place and endure that but that's a lie! We can find forgiveness and freedom when we ask a loving God for forgiveness and he frees us from the guilt and the pain that once plagued our lives! We don't have to lay down in our sorrow..we can rise up and take up our crosses to follow after Jesus' calling for our lives!
We don't have to settle for the leftovers in this life..we can have something fresh, something new, something that's beneficial to our lives in every way!
God's way is best..let's lay down our burdens and allow God to give us the peace that passes all understanding and the healing that we so desperately need!
God sees every single obstacle around the corner and he even sees our mistakes but yet he loves us so much that he sent his son to become a Savior to us and to make a way for us to spend eternity with him!
God wants only the best for us, he wants us to grow in him, to learn to love like him and to continue to dedicate our lives to him daily!

~What If?~

Have you ever wondered "what if?"
Like "What would have happened if I hadn't gone through that struggle?" Or "What if I had never taken a chance?"
Whatever your "what if's" may be, you need to realize that they can become a better person if only you'd allow good things to come into your life.
When things go wrong in our lives it's hard to cope at first, when we make mistakes in our lives we have to learn to forgive ourselves and move past the guilt, half the time the regret of what we've done is followed by the "what if they won't accept me because of a mistake I made?" And when we begin to think those doubtful thoughts, we begin to doubt in our future and that we can never possess what makes us happy and what we dream of.
Stop for a moment and put your hand over your chest..Realize the reason you're heart is beating is because God has a purpose for you..that only you can fulfill! God made you and formed your very existence so you could be a light into this dark world!
God is the only one that can take your failures and turn them into new opportunities, you can reach others and encourage them not to give up..that God can use them in many different ways like He has used you all because you gave it to God to do the mending!
It's like the song says..
"What if my greatest disappointment and the achings of this life
is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
What if trials of this life
the rains
the storms
the hardest nights are your mercies in disguise."
What if your past mistakes can prevent others from making the same mistakes? What if you become wiser and you end up creating an even happier life because you learned something?
Ask yourself "What if?" Today, or better yet ask yourself "Why not?" With God all things are possible and his grace can do some amazing things in a persons life! Don't give up on God's plan for your life just because you've made a mistake, get up after you've fallen and continue on your way but this time keep going and help others while you fulfill his purpose for your life!
God knows your heart and He knows who to send your way to benefit your life, I've seen God perform miracles many times..so why not surrender your life to him?..yes, failures too!
allow his healing to bring restoration into your life and choose to walk in his truth from now on..it's never too late for God to intervene! God can turn a "mess" into a "message" so don't stop just because you fail sometimes..ask him for forgiveness and keep striving to become a better person every day.

~What is my face saying to them?~

We don't realize sometimes just how careful we need to be when being around people, for instance..
They say "a pictures worth a thousand words.."
So what is your face saying?
You don't always have to say a word, there are plenty of ways to tell what you're thinking about someone else just by the mere expression on your face!
Let me ask you this.. Is your face expressing kindness to others?
Or is your face expressing judgement to others?
If you have problems judging others and you show it in your expressions, it's almost the same as just saying it out loud to them!
For example, If you cannot learn to be kind at church then you certainly shouldn't be going out into the world with an attitude like that! That doesn't say.. "I'm a follower of Christ"
instead that makes the unsaved view church as a bunch of people who are judgmental toward them!
I truly believe that is the reason why so many people are choosing to stay home on Sunday's instead of attending church, even they know how Christians should be acting..which to me speaks volumes of the attitude that we are putting out by even our facial expressions!

If you do anything out in the world..have a good attitude to contribute to others so that they will have a good day and more than that, that they will begin to view "church goers" as "friendly" not as "critical" because in these last days IT IS CRUCIAL for us to reach them for Christ and if our attitudes aren't backing that up..then what does it mean to be saved? What then is the difference between "a Christian" and "a sinner" if you can no longer see the light of Christ glowing on your face?
Think about that today..What is my face saying to them?
Smile, show kindness and perhaps come Sunday, they might be sitting next to you in church with a smile on their face that they can take into the world as well!

Matthew 5:16
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

~How to be compassionate~

What does it really mean to be compassionate? Most would consider compassion to be a form of kindness that you use toward your neighbor when they need a helping hand, But really to be compassionate is so much more than that..to show compassion is also putting your neighbors need above your own when you are having a hard time as well, for example..If you need a friend..Be a friend to someone! If you are in pain..comfort someone who is hurting! If you are sad..make someone else smile!

You see, compassion can also be when you reach out in kindness when the world hasn't been as kind to you, when you are struggling but still find an opportunity to help others, when you have had your heart broken but you still are able to love unconditionally to those who really need a chance from a caring soul..so when you think about compassion it really has much more of a meaning to it than some may believe..It's a word packed with purpose that this world could really use right now and when it comes down to it we have all been at a point in our lives before when we needed a little extra compassion much like the compassion that Jesus once showed to us, we didn't deserve it but still He came to show us the meaning of the word "compassion" and we could all come to learn from his actions and start applying it to our own lives. 

Be compassionate today and reach out to someone who clearly needs that kind of love..through that kindness you may even help save their soul! Think about it.

~Don't waste your time..~

Have you ever stopped and wondered what your purpose was?
The fact is that if you have to stop and wonder about it..you probably haven't discovered what that is yet.

First of all, We were made to worship.. so if we aren't worshipping our very creator..then what are we doing?
The answer is..we are wasting our time, precious time.

Second, We have a wonderful imagination..but we are filling it up with things like porn and things that we see with our eyes instead of seeing with our hearts!
We try to satisfy ourselves with temporary pleasures that only feel good or look good for a season but when they fade away we wonder what we are missing in our lives..But what do we do? We go back to the porn and all the temporary fills that brought us to that place more than once in our lives and instead of changing..we remain the same and we refuse to admit that it's us that's the problem and that our hearts need to change!

What is wrong with us? We are starting to waste away, we no longer apply the bible to how our lives should be, but instead we go on reading the verses that we are "okay" with and refuse to apply the whole word of God toward changing our lives for the better simply because we are afraid to be different and to be separated from the ideals and temporary fills of this world!

What would happen if we gave God our all? How many more people would we help! If only we'd admit that we want to change into something better..we would also understand that we can do anything with God and we could benefit others around us by walking in His truth! We could shake this world and wake it up to realize that they need Jesus!
Our vision would be clearer and we would start to dream beautiful dreams again, if only we would surrender our minds and our eyes to God again!

Let's surrender our everything to God! Our every thought and dream so we can strive to be something better for the world to see and along the way we will bring others to salvation just from seeing our faith turned into actions!
Don't waste today, choose today to make a difference in the world by showing them the love of Christ and by showing them the difference that He's made in your life!

~Weekly Thoughts~

They say to keep your friends close but your enemies closer but upon thinking of this I've realized that if we do that we are pushing away precious time we could be spending with our family and our friends, not only that but we are losing our peace of mind because we are giving our enemies power by allowing them to remain tied to us!
If you are constantly thinking different scenarios of how you could seek revenge against them then not only are they consuming your thoughts..they are also taking away other things like..our joy, our peace, and not only that but they are also holding us back from completing our dreams!
Satan wants us to think evil upon our enemies because that will prevent us from doing good in this world and it will also put off what you're purposed for!
I don't know about you but I don't want to give my enemies that kind of power! I won't allow them to control my life like that! I want joy and I won't have that constantly wishing destruction upon them!
I want peace but I won't have it if I allow my thoughts to be consumed with worry of what plans my enemies might have!
And I certainly won't allow them to hold me back from completing what only I can do because I know that I'm needed to shine my light upon this world, whether if that's a smile to a stranger or an encouraging word to a friend or family member in need!
Don't allow your enemies to control any area of your life!
Have joy! Have peace! Go out there and do what you're meant to do no matter what!
God's ways are higher ways and his thoughts are so much better for your life than anything that the enemy might be planning but it's not our job to worry..it's our job to trust in God to deal with that situation for us!
And don't you worry because..God's got this too!

Isaiah 55:7-9

~Deception~

John 10:10-11

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”

I talked to the kids in children's church this past Sunday about the way Satan deceives us and tries to put constant fear in us, how he wants us to become weak from that fear so he can have control over us and cause our minds to become clouded with fear!

All Satan wants for us is to take us down with him but we don't have to settle for that fate, we have authority over him in Jesus name! There is power in that name!

Halloween is just a few days away and there are a lot of things out there that are scary, I don't know about you but I've never been too crazy about being scared out of my mind!
But lucky for us because of Jesus..we don't have to be afraid of anything!
I want you to remember that this week and realize that because of Jesus..we don't have to surrender to that fear, it has no hold on us! Because of Jesus we don't have to allow that fear to cripple us anymore!

Psalms 23:4

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.”

~To Love and To Be Loved~

There are many in this world nowadays who have misconceptions of what it means to love someone.
For some reason many are receiving instead of giving like they should be doing, it seems like there are too many around these days who want to know what's in it for them instead of wondering what they can do for the person beside them.

The reason why so many relationships end in this day in age is because we have lost our love for people, we no longer use our social skills and we don't have meaningful conversation but instead we think only about gaining things for our own selfish pleasure and we don't develop a deeper relationship but want to skip past getting to know someone from the inside out..now all that is desired is to get to know someone by skipping the bases and making it all the way to third base but we no longer make it to the home plate  because in this world it's not about making a beautiful family life in a lovely home anymore..it's about getting everything you can out of someone and then walking away when you think they are getting "Too Serious" or they are getting "Too Close" and that scares many nowadays!
The American Dream isn't the same anymore and our world isn't safe like it once was because we have put so much sin and evil into it!
We have done it to this world, we have corrupted it with sin and now the innocent children are having to deal with it! But what do we do? Nothing.
We just close our eyes to the fact that we are the problem and if we only realized it..we could change this world for the better!
Unless we surrender and admit that we have sinned and unless we turn to God once more.. our society, our schools and yes, even our churches will continue to dig deeper into the things of this world and instead of changing..we have suddenly decided to accept things of sinful nature in our homes, schools and even behind church walls and that means that we have welcomed it into our sanctuaries and that means that there isn't a refuge to run to if we don't stop it from happening! Without that refuge..there can be no peace and one thing is for certain..sin causes us to lose our peace and not only that..it also causes us to lose sight of our dreams as well!
We have to return to God, we have to get on our knees again in prayer, we have to remember where we came from, not only for ourselves but think about the innocent children out there who are having to live inside the world that you have shaped around them!
Do it for the benefit of a better world for your future family, because like it or not..what you do today will effect them also, if you don't realize that what you're doing is wrong and start getting involved in church again!
Take control of your life now so something bad doesn't take root in your heart and control your life for you!
If you'll surrender everything to God..Then God will give you everything that you'll ever need and most of all you'll have peace in your life and a smile on your face even when bad days come..because you'll have the joy from the Lord that no one can ever take away!
This verse reminded me of the world we live in and how we need to choose God once more because we know that we cannot survive without him leading us in every area of our lives!

Joshua 24:14-16
“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Then the people answered, “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods!”

I simply love reading from Psalms, in fact most of the inspiration that goes into my writing comes Psalms!

Today, I have a question for you.. How long has it been since you've felt an overwhelming feeling of thanksgiving unto God?
Sometimes we allow ourselves to become so busy or we allow our minds to overly focus on the negative places in our lives instead of focusing on the good things in our lives!
Don't do that! Don't allow your focus to become clouded by all of life's negatives, No matter how hard it may seem..it could be that God is the one holding onto the very last string keeping that situation from being much worse than it is! I know it's hard..believe me, I know! But God is there holding you together from falling completely apart and He is not going to abandon you! There may be times that you have walked away from God or even that you've walked away from His will but God didn't give up on you because He loves you and He knows your heart!

So, no matter what you're facing, no matter who you are dealing with, no matter what you're fighting through, no matter how hopeless it may feel..God is with you and He isn't going to leave you! No matter what..Have faith and that's what will get you through ANYTHING in this life! Don't ever give up..keep going and always thank Him for the good things purposed for your life..it's on it's way!

~What am I not seeing?~

Many times as Christians we simply "miss it" or we "overlook" things because it wasn't at the time that we were expecting it to appear but worse than that many times we forget to close our eyes and see what God thinks, instead we somehow think that we know ourselves better than our creator and that's how we miss out on so many things!

What if we could have a dream like Mr. Scrooge and see all the moments that we have missed along the way? Would we still think the same way or would we suddenly have a change of heart like that of Mr. Scrooge's change of perspective on life!
God could give us dreams like that but the reason why He doesn't do it very often is because He is simply testing us, seeing if we are going to listen to His voice or that nudge from Him.
But when we don't..most of the time that was our only chance!

We ask so many times "God show me a sign.." But why is it that when it comes our way we don't realize it and we allow our heart to become hardened to it?
If we would only allow God to put things in our path more often, we wouldn't miss out on so much in this life!

Let's make a commitment to listen more this year, to not focus so much on the outer things but to look at the core of things instead! God's love is deep, so why do we always try to find something beautiful on the outside first off when there are many much better things out there if only we would focus on the heart instead of the physical appearance of people?
Let's try to change that frame of mind this year, let's dig a little deeper, because unless we truly understand that..how can we say that we are thinking like Christ? Or maybe it's just me but It's something to get you thinking nonetheless.

1 Samuel 16:7
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
