~New Seasons, New Reasons~

It's hard to believe that it's merely hours away from the new year, I'm sure some are optimistic coming into something fresh but I'm sure that there are also many of you that are apprehensive starting off another year when you didn't act on last years resolution, whatever that might be.
I'm certain that we should try to do something to better ourselves not just every year but for every day of our lives, we don't need to start the new year off with promises that we don't intend to keep, it's better to be honest with yourself and know what you can and cannot fulfill.
For instance, you cannot fulfill something like.."I'm going to become the president of the company this year!" But you cannot fulfill that if you're delivering the mail to the office..let's be practical when we promise to make something of ourselves to better ourselves by making resolutions that we can make happen!
As for myself, my resolution is pretty much the same every year.."I'm going to make as many people smile as I can, including making myself smile by doing the things that makes me happy!"
If your resolution is something that gives you joy to do, you're going to fulfill that promise!
Passion will always drive you to complete the mission!
Do something that gives you joy, help a person in need, volunteer to learn valuable lessons, finish something you started last year but failed to complete, do something that's good for you, vow to take your family to church every Sunday at the start of the new year and I promise you that you'll notice a difference in your family's attitude!

The key to keeping your New Years resolutions is quite simple..
Become a better you, serve others, learn something, grow closer to God..
But at the same time, don't limit yourself to the impossible! Because if you're dedicated and driven.. anything is possible..especially if God is on your side!

With that note, here is my New Years resolution..
#1. volunteer at the local library reading to the children.
#2. Finish my children's book by the end of the year.
#3. Go on a real vacation.
#4. Continue seeking God's purpose for my life.
And finally..
#5. Put music to at least one song that I've already written.
Do I intend to fulfill these? Yes, I really do. I'm passionate about all of these things so I know that I can make them happen!
Remember to make resolutions that are things you are passionate about and you'll be able to make them happen!

Happy New Year to all of my readers, God's favor to you all in the new year!

Job 8:5-7
"If you will seek God
and plead with the Almighty for mercy,
if you are pure and upright,
surely then he will rouse himself for you
and restore your rightful habitation.
And though your beginning was small,
your latter days will be very great."

~Thank God~

Psalms 33:1-5
"The Steadfast Love of the LORD
Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.
For the word of the LORD is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the LORD."

I simply love reading from Psalms, in fact most of the inspiration that goes into my writing comes Psalms!

Today, I have a question for you.. How long has it been since you've felt an overwhelming feeling of thanksgiving unto God?
Sometimes we allow ourselves to become so busy or we allow our minds to overly focus on the negative places in our lives instead of focusing on the good things in our lives!
Don't do that! Don't allow your focus to become clouded by all of life's negatives, No matter how hard it may seem..it could be that God is the one holding onto the very last string keeping that situation from being much worse than it is! I know it's hard..believe me, I know! But God is there holding you together from falling completely apart and He is not going to abandon you! There may be times that you have walked away from God or even that you've walked away from His will but God didn't give up on you because He loves you and He knows your heart!

So, no matter what you're facing, no matter who you are dealing with, no matter what you're fighting through, no matter how hopeless it may feel..God is with you and He isn't going to leave you! No matter what..Have faith and that's what will get you through ANYTHING in this life! Don't ever give up..keep going and always thank Him for the good things purposed for your life..it's on it's way!

~Verse of the day~

Psalms 30:1-5
"I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
O LORD my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.
O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning."

~Surrounded~

"Negativity" it's the very thing that we try so hard to escape from or we try to avoid those who radiate it.

It's the killer of dreams, the deepest form of doubt, once you begin to think in this frame of mind..it's hard to be optimistic or to have hope and faith that God will get you through it all.

Negative words or thinking can be dangerous and deadly..especially in the church in the leaders or in a business of any kind! It can destroy a person or make things that are "possible" to seem "impossible" with a single word or thought it can hold you back from ever succeeding and can even stop you in your tracks, because with negativity comes doubt and with doubt comes shattered faith!

As Christians it is our responsibility to declare a positive environment surrounding us but if you have to be around people who are constantly negative and dried up in spirit..it can be tough, it can be really tough!

Perhaps if we would start praying more in the house instead of just at church..maybe our world would change, maybe if we started speaking to the negative people around us by declaring the hope that God gives you..they may also begin to see it in their own lives!

This world can be such a cruel place to live in if we don't ever try to make a difference, the only reason why so many people are so scared of being in the world is because they have allowed their doubt that they'll become someone better to die and they are afraid to hope for something more in their world!
We have to resurrect these people who have allowed their optimism to die!
We have to reach out to those who have become blind to the good things left in this world! We have to speak life to them and hope that they will begin to speak life back into their own environment!

There are a few things that a person should never give in to..
#1. Don't ever let someone else tell you who you are, those dreams belong to you and God has a purpose for those dreams..don't ever let someone speak over what hopes you have for yourself!
#2. Don't ever start something that your passionate about and stop in the middle of it, if you are passionate about something either do it or don't do it but make a decision and stick with it so you won't complicate things in your life or allow for more stress in your life, pick one thing you're passionate about and be successful in that area!
#3. Don't hang out with people you know are negative if you can be easily brought down, no one is forcing you to be around them and I'm sure that there are plenty of other people that they can talk about their problems with instead of you and it's best to learn to appreciate time with yourself to achieve your goals until there is someone positive for you to hang around.
#4. When you start to doubt..PRAY! Don't allow doubt to set in, that's when problems begin to happen..no one needs more problems to deal with, so why not pray about it and ask God to take this burden off of you or to help put things in perspective for you to better understand why someone is so negative! God can always put things in perspective for us when it comes to people and when it comes to our personal lives, so ALWAYS PRAY for answers and pray that God will protect you from anyone that doesn't belong in your life..There are people that are sent by God but there are also people that are sent by Satan to distract us long enough so Satan can destroy us..remember that!
Talking about all of this reminds me of this verse, I hope this blesses you..

Job 11:17-20
"And your life will be brighter than the noonday;
its darkness will be like the morning.
And you will feel secure, because there is hope;
you will look around and take your rest in security.
You will lie down, and none will make you afraid;
many will court your favor.
But the eyes of the wicked will fail;
all way of escape will be lost to them,
and their hope is to breathe their last.”

~Where is the love?~

I really felt like I needed to post this again today, I hope this blesses you and I hope that this applies to someone in a special way.

"Bitterness" the taste is bad enough but once you allow Bitterness to in-root itself into your heart..nothing feels the same in life!
Not only does Bitterness cause problems for you but also for your loved ones around you!
Suddenly, the smiles are no longer natural but become forced and the joy begins to die away like a fading flower..once the sun has gone the flower can no longer grow but dies.

There are days when all you want to do is hide away from your friends and family, then all you do is think about yourself and what you need all the time.

When your life begins to revolve around what benefits you and you alone..that's when bitterness sneaks it's way in!
It's not so easy to break free from it either! The only way to find freedom from the bitterness is to let go of the pain that caused you the bitterness in the first place..You have to decide to move past it in order to break free from it.

Are you tired of feeling disappointed? Are you ready to wake up happy and have joy in your life again? It's not too late! God is ready to lead you out of the darkness that bitterness holds on you! Cry out to God and He will attend to your cry and He will heal your heart so that you'll be open to love others again! He can restore the trust again! You can have peace again! Let go of the hurt and reach out for God's heart so you can reach out in love! God doesn't want you to be bitter..He wants you to be better!

Isaiah 38:16-17
"O Lord, by these things men live,
and in all these is the life of my spirit.
Oh restore me to health and make me live!
Behold, it was for my welfare
that I had great bitterness;
but in love you have delivered my life
from the pit of destruction,
for you have cast all my sins
behind your back."

dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the LORD,

trust in him, and he will act.
He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,

~Not what it used to be..but better!~

As we grow older, Christmas shouldn't feel the same, we should by adulthood realize what giving really means and it should feel good to give to your loved ones, rather than only receiving those gifts.

I've come to realize this feeling of accomplishment and value of family even more so since I've grown up (especially witnessing my niece and nephews faces on Christmas morning)
As I look at their faces as they open their gifts I smile in knowing that someday they will also learn the pleasure of giving as well!

Christmas isn't what it used to be mainly because we moved from our farm in Missouri to the flat swampy area of Tarkington, Texas but it's so much more than that! I've fallen in love with our little community and through hard times and struggles..there have been many times that I've felt their prayers reaching me!
Coming from around the Ozark's I know beauty and even though it's not the most beautiful sight here (especially during extra rainy seasons) I am happy, loved and in the will of God! This is where I need to be for this season because I know that God is going to take me to big places..to spread the love of His son Jesus and when that moment comes to move into something else He has for me..I'll be ready to go and I'll have a heart that is ready to reach out in love!

I love you all and I hope that you know just how special of a place you hold in my heart! I appreciate your prayers, your encouragement, your friendship and your constant support!
Warm Wishes this Christmas to all of my Facebook friends, You are so loved! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year of new beginnings and better health! ❤️

~I will trust in you always~

There is a song that always reminded me of whom I should rely on at all times..the song says this..
"I will trust in you always, oh ancient of days, for you are the rock of the age, I will trust in you always"

Through all seasons of our lives..God wants to be there, and He is..even when we think He is not, God is there even when we turned away for a moment in our lives! I'm so glad that we can rely on Him through all seasons..even in seasons of doubt or in moments of tragedy..God is with you, don't be afraid that He has turned away..He is with you and He loves you..call on His holy name at any moment and He will be there to help and often times He even sends His angels in disguise in our times of need! What an awesome God that we serve!

Psalms 34:4-8
"I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!"

Psalms 119:166-176
"I hope for your salvation, O LORD,
and I do your commandments.
My soul keeps your testimonies;
I love them exceedingly.
I keep your precepts and testimonies,
for all my ways are before you.
Taw
Let my cry come before you, O LORD;
give me understanding according to your word!
Let my plea come before you;
deliver me according to your word.
My lips will pour forth praise,
for you teach me your statutes.
My tongue will sing of your word,
for all your commandments are right.
Let your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.
I long for your salvation, O LORD,
and your law is my delight.
Let my soul live and praise you,
and let your rules help me.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant,
for I do not forget your commandments."

Psalms 32:10-11
"Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!"

~You've got me~

Do you ever feel like you're all alone?
I'll admit that I struggle with as well but when this happens my mind goes to this verse..

Psalms 42:5
"Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation"

If you notice this verse is repeated many times throughout psalms 42 and so on, have you ever wondered why it was repeated so many times?
I think that the reason for that is because David was feeling lonely and desperate to hear from God, like we sometimes feel in our lives.
It's good to know that even kings sometimes feel lonely and it can cause us to realize that when that feeling comes over us we don't have to fear that we're alone..because God isn't far from us, we just have to reach out to him at times, I love to read this part of the verse as well..

Psalms 42:1-4
"As a deer pants for flowing streams,
so pants my soul for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
My tears have been my food
day and night,
while they say to me all the day long,
“Where is your God?”
These things I remember,
as I pour out my soul:
how I would go with the throng
and lead them in procession to the house of God
with glad shouts and songs of praise,
a multitude keeping festival."

"As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you.."
When we read this part it helps us to remember that..much like a deer thirsts for water, we cannot be satisfied without a drink from the fountain of living water, we cannot live our lives to the fullest unless we have God leading us to where we need to go or to comfort us in times of loneliness!
God will be there to bring us comfort..because He is the comforter and the fountain to satisfy our every thirst!
Reach out to Him today and don't be afraid to ask for what you need from Him..He is there to listen to your every need but don't forget to thank Him just for being there and for being your strength when you were in your weakness!
I'm so glad that we serve such a mighty God, aren't you?

~Moving Forward..~

Well..it's Monday again and for most of you it's time for you to go back to work, for some of you it's time to drop the kids off at school and return home to work on the housework.
But for some it may be a tough day because you're planning to attend a funeral of a loved one or perhaps you received some not so good news from the doctor this morning.
If any of these sound like you, then this is for you today!
I'm here to tell you that you're going to make it through whatever you're facing today, Because God has greater moments ahead of you, you may be feeling like it's never going to feel good again or that you're not going to make it through this struggle but I assure you that you serve a mighty God who has the ability to show up even in the midst of confusion..when you just don't know anymore, when you don't know who your friends are, when you feel broken and alone..God can come in the very midst of those times and pull you through them all! Don't give up, give it to God and trust in His plan again!
It may seem like it's over..but the best times of your life aren't behind but instead they are before you! Keep your eyes looking ahead and continue to move forward into God's greatness!
You're not alone..God is with you and He loves you, don't give up, because the best is yet to come!

Haggai 2:9
“The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.”

Psalms 36:5-7
"Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
your judgments are like the great deep;
man and beast you save, O LORD.
How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings."

~Verse of the day~

Psalms 34:17-22
"When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the LORD delivers him out of them all.
He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.
Affliction will slay the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
The LORD redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned."

Psalms 31:1-5
"Into Your Hand I Commit My Spirit
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
In you, O LORD, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me!
Incline your ear to me;
rescue me speedily!
Be a rock of refuge for me,
a strong fortress to save me!
For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me;
you take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God."

~Deception: The story of two nations~

Genesis 25:22-34
"The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the Lord. And the Lord said to her,
“Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you shall be divided;
the one shall be stronger than the other,
the older shall serve the younger.”
When her days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb. The first came out red, all his body like a hairy cloak, so they called his name Esau. Afterward his brother came out with his hand holding Esau's heel, so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.
When the boys grew up, Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents. Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.
Esau Sells His Birthright
Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.) Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright."

When we think about this story normally the first thing we think about is Jacob and the way that He deceived His own brother, but at the same time you think about the way His Mother constantly pushed Him to take Esau's birthright by tricking Him into it..as Jacob was Her favorite of the sons,
they say the way to a mans heart is through His stomach after all! That's just what Jacob did and His Mother knew that would do the trick!
I think something we can learn about this story is how we shouldn't ever listen to someone so much that we forget what we want and what our Father has predestined for us..
Jacob allowed His Mother to talk Him into tricking His Brother and in the end Jacob lived up to His namesake..Jacob means "deceiver" and He certainly did that to Esau.
More than that, Rebecca also deceived Her own Husband by doing something as low as this!
When I look at this story I try to learn from it by understanding that anyone can be deceived and also that we shouldn't allow someone else the right to steal our blessing right from under us! It's a good thing that God cannot be deceived like Isaac and Esau was because there are many who would like to take your birthright from you!
This world can be so cruel and dark!
Learn from this story by being cautious and not allowing yourself to become deceived by someone..it could even be someone who is family like this story! Don't allow anyone to force you to settle for something less than God's very best!
There are a lot of deceivers out there that feed off of destroying other people's lives..watch out for yourself and pay attention to whom you sit down to dinner with..it cost Esau His birthright and that's something that He couldn't ever get back!

In the end of the story it all works out for the both of them but the point is that we need to consider those who are out there to deceive us and they desire to use us!
Jacob and Esau's story could've been a much more happy one if only Jacob hadn't listened to His Mothers plan of deception toward His own Brother!
I'm so glad for the times that God intervenes and saves us from being deceived even after we fell for their trickery at times! God can save us from all of that even when it's almost too late..it's never too late according to God! He always shows up just in time to rescue us from the enemy or from someone we trusted who deceived us!

Ask God to give you wisdom today, that you will not become deceived by anyone! Then ask Him to protect you if you find yourself in the same position as Esau found himself in! It's never too late for God to transform that bad thing into something miraculous!
God can turn anything around! He saved me more than once from being deceived and lied to! I know that I can thank God for rescuing me and preserving my future from the hands of the enemy!
Thank God for His saving grace..for it truly is never too late!

~Why are we scared of God's will?~

Do you ever find yourself doubting though you know that God has all of these great plans for you?
For example, a while back I found myself at a standstill because I was allowing myself to think logically instead of thinking on the Godgical way (as I like to call it) I was thinking too much about what a saw in front of me, instead of trusting in the unseen things.
Which leads me to my next question..
Do you ever find yourself looking outward more often than looking inward?
I must admit that I struggle sometimes with this very thing, now don't get me wrong I'm as optimistic as they come but sometimes I mistake my plan as God's plan because I sometimes forget to realize that God works in a miraculous and supernatural manner, I forget at times that His ways are higher than my ways so I have to stop for a moment to redirect my thoughts and come to realize again that God is moving in my life though I cannot see any movement at times, that doesn't mean that He isn't working in a supernatural way!

I believe sometimes we just need to stop thinking and slow down to hear God's voice more, the best way for me to do that is to go to a place of solitude and turn up some familiar Christian tunes that I know will consume my thoughts, So I can prepare myself to hear God's voice and feel His leading more clearly.

We all have different ways that help us to step away from the world, sometimes we work too hard at things in our lives that we don't leave enough room for prayer time and solitude for ourselves. It's very important to allow a special time so that you can hear God more clearly so you can know how to follow His leading to be applied into your ministry and in your personal life, God has to be in both areas for us to truly be happy and to feel like our purpose is reaching where it's meant to.

Always remember this, There is time for yourself, time for your family and friends, and time for God..don't put God last on the list though, it should look like this..
#1. Time with God: to pray and seek his will.
#2. Time to yourself: to take care of your temple and to ask yourself important questions of what your purpose is.
#3. To spend valuable time with your loved ones and seek positive feedback from your Christian friends and family.

We need to do what's right by serving God the best we can and focus on what ways we can better fulfill His purpose in all areas of our lives, we only have one life to live so we should make our lives an offering to God since He is the giver of the very breath in our lungs and He is the maker of our dreams that we are so blessed to have! Be thankful for your life..even in the times of setbacks because God is there to set you up for a major comeback! Trust in God..He is always with you, "seek" Him if you want to "see" Him working in all areas of your life! And know that faith comes by hearing..not by seeing!

Romans 10:17
"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

~Verse of the day~

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

~God knows who you really are~

Do you ever have the feeling that you have something in your heart to say but you just cannot find the words?
That's precisely what I'm dealing with currently, I so desperately want to say so much but I don't know where to start.
It's almost like when you know someone that you want to help but you don't know what their need is or even where to begin to help them but somehow you feel like they have a need.,it's that feeling of urgency within yourself that you need to reach out to someone using your words or your hands to meet their need!
I have a sense of urgency like never before to fulfill God's will over my life..nothing is stronger than that of God's purpose for a persons life and I desire to go after it all the way.

I'm sure you probably share this common thought as I do..
It's sometimes hard to believe that even though I fail God at times His love is ever reaching and it pulls me toward Him, I cannot deny His divine purpose and I'm realizing that even when I make mistakes..He still knows my heart and knows that I only wish to please Him, my failures in my past cannot rip God's plans from my hands because He knows that my heart isn't in the mistakes I've made,
my heart is in love with Him so much that I'm willing to give the rest of the world up if that's what it takes to fulfill His plan for my life.
The point I'm getting to here is that I've made mistakes and we've all made mistakes but there comes a time when we have to stop going with the logical  flow of things of this world and we have to focus on what God has been speaking into our hearts for so long!
We've made mistakes but it doesn't have to end there..sometimes we have to seek God and learn that there is much more for us to do and past failures don't determine what happens to us as long as we come to realize that God has something else in mind for us! Once you realize what that "something" is..you will suddenly realize that the desire to follow God's plan through outweighs your own plan or even the plans that others have tried to force on you.

If I say anything today that helps you, let it be this.. Mistakes are expected of Us because we're human but miracles are expected of God because of the almighty God that we serve!
People will try their hardest to convince you that God's purpose for your life is to allow bad things to happen to you and they will also say that once you've made a mistake that you cannot receive the blessings of God again and that you can never go back to Him because of what you've done..They are wrong!
God sees your heart and He knows what we do and what our hearts are in, God knows that your mistakes aren't who you are inside or who He has created you to be!
Make up your mind today to follow down the path that leads to His will for your life! Don't ever abandon Him and His perfect will for your life! It will be worth it in the end and you'll have such joy in your life if it's in His will..you will see those wonderful things come to pass as long as you follow after Him from now on and if you fall down..get back up and start over again! God loves you!

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

~It's not over for you..~

I've always loved reading in Isaiah, I love this verse especially because it reminds me to move forward and to always remember that though things have passed away..God has better things coming to me!
God has a purpose for us even for the setbacks, in fact while you are struggling..He is molding and perfecting you to become ready to do this work! Even gold in all it's beauty went through the fire before it was perfect and ready, think of yourself as being the same! You are gold! You are a treasure! You are his sons and daughters! Don't worry about how long you've been gone..God still has a plan for you and it's not too late for you to come back to Him and for Him to fulfill that plan in your life!
Start fresh and find a good church to call home! God has great things in store for you!
Isaiah 42:9-10
"Behold, the former things have come to pass,
and new things I now declare;
before they spring forth
I tell you of them.”
Sing to the Lord a New Song
Sing to the Lord a new song,
his praise from the end of the earth,
you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it,
the coastlands and their inhabitants."
