~They may know the name Jesus..but that doesn't make them a Christian~

I'm going to talk about what it takes to truly be a Christian tonight, it's beyond going to church, it goes further than knowing the name "Jesus" and finally it's more than just being a "kind" person, being a Christian goes so much deeper than all of those things, it's about building a close relationship with God and realizing that the person you were yesterday is in the past and you must now step forward and strive to change into the person that God wants you to become! God wants you to rise to your full potential and grasp the calling that he has in store for you! We are all gifted and God has special callings for each and every one of us, we just have to decide to choose his calling and purpose for our lives and do our best to follow God! That doesn't mean that you have to be "perfect" because there's no such thing as a "perfect Christian" we have all made mistakes and we've all hurt people that are dear to us at some point but what we must do is simply allow God to heal us and accept God's forgiveness..it's hard to believe at times that he could forgive the bad choices that we've made in our lives but we need to begin to realize and accept that God really does love us and he always forgives us of all wrongs!
There is nothing we can do to change what we did yesterday but there is everything to cease in tomorrow, it means we have mercy and a second chance to do what we wished  we had done the day before..but we can make up for yesterday by allow God's grace to make us new again!
If you make the same mistake again..God will forgive you of what you've done! We need to cling to him and allow him to make us new and ask God to help us to not go back to yesterday's mistakes! He will always forgive you..so doesn't that make you want to change just because of his faithfulness? Doesn't it seem like it's worth it to change..knowing that God can use you for his glory more?
Let us move forward into new purpose and leave the wrongs in the past and strive for a better future full of hope!
~Dani
